Grand Ledge Varsity Boys' Tennis player Cole Goodman qualified for Division 1 State Finals, extending his season one more week after an impressive performance at the MHSAA Regional tournament on October 11th in Midland. Cole finished as Regional Runner-up at #1 Singles in the cold and windy conditions with victories over Junior Ben Boss of Saginaw Heritage 6-3, 6-0 and Senior Austin Pariseau of Davison 6-3, 6-2. Cole fought hard, making 2 comebacks in the 3 hour final against Junior Stu Johnston of Grand Blanc, but eventually ran out of gas losing 7-5, 6-7 (5), 3-6. GL failed to advance in any other flights but did have a couple exciting 3-set first round matches--2 Singles: Junior Nate Lehman losing to Davison 1-6, 6-2, 2-6 and 3 Singles: Senior Adam Kimmith losing to Davison 2-6, 7-6(2), 1-6. Good Luck to Cole October 19-20th at the State Finals in Midland. He improved his record to 21-5 for the season.

GL Varsity Tennis fell to Dewitt 2-6. Triumphant wins came from #1 singles Cole Goodman and #3 singles Adam Kimmith. Adam Kimmith fought back to win the 3rd set 6-4 for the win.

Holt won over GL with a score of 8-0.  Number one singles forced a third set, only to fall in a third set tiebreaker.

Another good day for Comet tennis on Saturday at the East Kentwood Invitational!  Team finished 5th out of 8 Teams: East Kentwood 21, Northview 17, Williamston 17, Unity Christian 12, Grand Ledge 10, Spring Lake 10, South Christian 5, Wayland Union 3  GL once again claims "best player of the tournament"!! #1 Singles Champion-Cole Goodman! 6-3, 6-7, 10-6 vs. GR Northview 6-2, 6-2 vs. Unity Christian 7-5, 6-1 vs Williamston for the championship Coach hasn't all gotten official scores from all the flights yet, but we do know: #2 singles Nate Lehman started off with a main draw win 6-2, 6-2 vs. Spring Lake before falling to Northview in the semifinals, and then Williamston in the 3rd place match  #2 doubles team of Faris Sami & Ishaan Sehgal won the consolation for their flight.
